Springbox Raises Awareness for Bone Marrow Donation

by Springbox, October 24, 2012

AUSTIN, Texas – October 24,2012: On Friday, October 6, Springbox hosted an event to help raise awareness for the rock n’ roll cancer charity, Love, Hope, Strength (LHS). LHS is an international, music-centric cancer charity that raises funds and builds bone marrow donation lists, one concert at a time.

The event, held at Springbox’s newly renovated headquarters and Austin events rental space, offered guests the opportunity to “Get on the List” and become a potential bone marrow donor. More than half of the attendees signed up to become donors in hopes that a match will be made and a life saved.

Christina Shipley, an LHS representative, stated, “Springbox’s event afforded Love, Hope, Strength an opportunity for great exposure in Austin — a rock n’ roll town — as well as an impressive number of potential bone marrow donors added to national donation database.”

The event also offered food from local food trailers East Side King and Coolhaus, and a rooftop acoustic performance from Birmingham based singer/songwriter, Matthew Mayfield.

“We enjoyed the opportunity to support a great charity, while unveiling our newly remodeled event rental space”, said Tom West, CEO of Springbox, “The Springbox team is hoping that a match will be made between a newly signed donor and someone in need."
